Dimitrios “Jimmy” Kilimitzoglou, DDS, DABOI, MAGD, FICOI, FAAID graduated from the State University of New York, School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook in 2002. Prior to studying at Dental School, he attended Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. Dr. Kilimitzoglou completed a two year residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at SUNY Stony Brook where he obtained extensive surgical and restorative implant training. He attended a one year Oral Implantology program at NYU College of Dentistry. He has performed a number of research studies on whitening agents and on composite filling materials which have been published and presented in national dental meetings.

Since then, Dr. Kilimitzoglou has attended numerous continuing education courses in sophisticated and comprehensive dentistry so that he can ensure that his patients receive the most advanced dental care. He has extensive experience in sedation, implant surgery and restoration, Invisalign, children’s dentistry, single visit crowns and porcelain fillings using CEREC, laser dentistry, cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry.
Dr. Kilimitzoglou is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Among the many professional memberships that Dr. Kilimitzoglou holds are: American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, Suffolk County Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantology, Academy of Osseointegration, and Dental Organization in Conscious Sedation. He is also a fellow of the Long Island Academy of Odontology and is currently involved in dental implant research through the PEARL network at New York University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Kilimitzoglou is an Associate Clinical Faculty in SUNY Stony Brook, School of Dental Medicine where he teaches 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year dental students. He is founder of the Dimitrios Kilimitzoglou Pioneer in Dentistry Award which is awarded to the graduating dental student demonstrating incredible pride, zeal and enthusiasm in dentistry by going above and beyond the requirements of the curriculum.
Dr. Kilimitzoglou is a Major in the Air National Guard/ Air Force and a member of the 106th Medical Group, 106th Rescue Wing at Westhampton Beach, NY.
Dr. Kilimitzoglou is currently serving as the President of the Suffolk County Dental Society.
The passion and excitement that Dr. Kilimitzoglou has toward dentistry and life in general is evident. He enjoys sharing this passion by lecturing to colleagues at local dental study groups.
