After I graduated from dental school in San Francisco–where by the way–we lived through the big earthquake of 1989, I moved back to Las Vegas to practice dentistry with my father.

My dad had been a dentist in Las Vegas since 1965. He never meant to end up in Las Vegas but he was sidetracked on his way to Phoenix. The weather was great compared to the Minnesota winters so I’m sure he thought Las Vegas was great.

I love dentistry and as soon as I was officially a dentist I began educating myself on the finer details of some of the subjects I learned in school. I’ve always said, you come out of dental school an okay dentist, but to be a great dentist you have to continue to push yourself and learn new things from the best in the industry.

Our office was one of the first dental offices to use safer advanced imaging techniques. We switched to digital X-rays shorty after I began. Not only was this safer for patients and our dental team (always a top concern) but safer for the environment (no more chemicals down the drain).

Our office was the first to purchase and use the cone beam icat technology. ICat technology is essential if you are a dentist placing dental implants. You simply must have a dimensional view of the bone in the jaw to place dental implants.

There are many other areas where my office has exceeded the norm for standards. I am proud of the way we use technology to make dentistry safer and better for our patients, our dental team and environment.

Another area I continue to exceed in is any type of licensing requirement for continuing education. Education is the key to staying current and learning new and better techniques in dentistry. As a dentist, I am committed to the best care for my patients in a comfortable and caring environment. “My goal is to be the best dentist in the Henderson and Las Vegas area.”

Dental Implants and Being a Dentist
Early in my career as a dentist, I was fortunate enough to study with the esteemed dental implantologist Dr. Carl Misch at the world renowned Misch International Implant Institute. The Misch International Implant Institute is one of the most respected teaching organizations for dental implants and implant supported dentures in the world. Dr Misch has left a lasting mark on the education of dentists around the world.

Recently I have studied with. Dr. Michael Pikos of the Pikos Institute for Surgical Excellence. Here I have had the opportunity to study Implant Soft Tissue Grafting, Advanced Bone Grafting, Sinus Grafting for Implant Reconstruction and Complex Bone Grafting with some of the most talented dental surgeons in the world. The information I have learned at the Pikos Institute has allowed me to successfully treat even the most difficult implant cases.

In late 2017, I set my sights on obtaining my DIplomate from the American Board of Oral Implantology.

The American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry is the premier implantology certifying organization recognized by the American Board of Dental Specialties (ABDS). The ABOI/ID Diplomate designation symbolizes the highest level of competence in implant dentistry. Certification by the ABOI/ID attests to the fact that a dentist has demonstrated knowledge, ability, and proficiency in implant dentistry through a rigorous examination process.

On May 21, 2018 I received notification from the ABOI that I am now a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. There are only two dentists in the state of Nevada with this designation.
