Dr. El-Banhawy graduated from Cairo University in Egypt. Afterwards, he completed the advanced education in general dentistry program at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He then moved on to post-graduate training in Periodontology and Implant dentistry in addition to obtaining a Masters of Biomedical Science, also from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
Dr. El-Banhawy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow and Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
He is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Periodontics at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and currently serves on the board of the Oakland County Dental Society. He has lectured nationally and internationally on the topics of periodontal microsurgery and immediately loaded “same day” dental implants.
Dr. El-Banhawy and his wife, Susan, who is also a dentist, live in West Bloomfield with their son and two rescue cats. When not taking care of his patients, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
